I don’t know why people do it.
I don’t know why I do it.
Hiding one’s own emotion for a livelier one. (I.E. Happy but you’re really sad)
It’s like we’ve all become accustomed to it that even when our lives aren’t that bad, when times can be worse, we still feel bad (and taking the privileges we have for granted) and still hiding the true feelings.
Why do we do it?
Is it because we have to? Does it make us feel any better?
No one has a gun to our head.
Yeah, sure, we have to so our friends wont worry, and generally, it’s for the better because if you smile enough, you’ll be really happy (or so they say.)
In the long run, you just damage yourself because when you think back to all those memories of being “happy,” you weren’t really elated.
Start being happy today, regardless of all the bad stuff that’s happened and write yourself new memories where you are truly happy.
So when (if) you get old enough, you may look back and have no regrets in life, albeit ex relationships and whatnot.
Do it for your friends, family, more importantly, yourself.
